Madzharovo – Arda river – Studen Kladenets lake 4 days / 3 nights Destination: Gorno pole – Arda river – Studen Kladenets lake – Studen Kladenets reserve Number of participants: minimal 4 adults
Late in the afternoon accommodation in the Wild Farm in the village of Gorno Pole. The Wild Farm is located in the village of Gorno pole, in the region of Madzharovo, Eastern Rhodopes. It is owned and managed by the family of Betty and Nikolay. The Wild farm is an unforgettable, unconventional farm where cattle is raised in semi-wild situation and where visitors can stay in guest houses and enjoy horse riding, nature walks, and organic food.At dinner you will enjoy Betty’s culinary skills and her tasteful homemade products .
Day two – Friday Starting the day with organic honey and homemade traditional breakfast. Your guide will take you to one of the main bird watching points in Madzharovo area. You will aim your camera at roaming Black Storks, Griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures, Golden eagleand other raptors near Kovan Kaya nature area. In the afternoon you will visit Patronka nature area where you’ll find excelent opportunities to photograph reptiles, amphibians, plants and landscape. Later in the afternoon you will visit the nature information center of BSPB in Madzharovo, and then return to Gorno pole to relax. You can ride a horse, walk around the village or visit the panoramic view point. The dinner will be prepared according special Wild farm recipe – veal in a pumpkin.
Day three – Saturday After having Betty’s Thracian pastry and homemade milk for breakfast, you head west to Oreshari nature area and Arda River. Today you will photograph rare plants, birds, reptiles, picturesque rock formations, Thracian tombs and niches. The lunch will be a picnic at the river bank. Your accommodation will be in a hotel in Momchilgrad where you enjoy spectacular views and relax at the outdoor swimming pool.
Day four – Sunday We take our breakfast with us because our departure is before daybreak.Our goal is the vulture's hide at Studen Kladenets reserve near the lake. A special vulture feeding will be organized which presents fantastic photo opportunities. The candidates in the feeding show are Griffon and Egyptian Vulture, Black Vulture, White-Tailed Eagle, Black Kite, Raven. The lunch will be with fish from the reserve's fish farm. In the afternoon we will have plenty opportunity to photograph the Fallow deer, Roe deer, hare, black stork. We will also search for the otter at the bank of the lake. Departure.
